The Restart Scheme is a government-backed employability programme, providing up to 12 months of enhanced support to help you get back to work in Greater Manchester.

Is it right for me?

The Restart Scheme is available for local, unemployed residents in Greater Manchester who are claiming Universal Credit and/or Income-Based Jobseekers Allowance.

The programme is fully funded, at no cost to you, providing you meet the eligibility criteria:

  • Currently claiming Universal Credit or Jobseekers Allowance

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Local resident in Greater Manchester

  • Aged 18+

  • Not currently participating in another DWP-contracted employment support programme

Employability support

After joining the Restart Scheme, your dedicated Support Advisor will work with you to assess your needs and the type of job role you would like to move in to.

You’ll also have access to additional training and re-skilling opportunities as well as a package of holistic support.

You’ll be supported by your advisor and our business development team to apply for vacancies suitable to your requirements, among a wide range of further benefits such as a modern learning environment fully equipped with job searching facilities.
