Once you’ve joined the Restart Scheme, you’ll be assigned a dedicated advisor, who will offer you:

• CV and application help
• Interview training
• Skills courses and qualifications
• Access to local employers
• Confidence and wellbeing support

The majority of your appointments will take place face to face in person from our office in central Manchester. We can also offer appointments by telephone and online.

Your Restart Scheme appointments are separate to your Jobcentre Plus appointments, and you should therefore continue to attend the Job Centre as required.

No, you continue receiving your current benefit as long as you meet your usual conditionality. Restart simply adds extra support activities.

Yes. When you are ready to attend interviews, you’ll be supported to look and feel work ready.

Our offices are fully equipped with any technology needed to get the most out of the Restart Scheme. This could include support with job applications, updating your CV and using the internet.

You'll have contact with your advisor at least every two weeks, with regular face to face meetings. You can also contact your advisor at any time in between.

You should bring some form or ID such as a passport, driving licence or identity card, and anything else you may need (for example, your glasses).

Yes, the Restart Scheme is only available to Universal Credit claimants in the Intensive Worksearch Regime.
